Some facts about blood donation
• On average one unit of blood can save up to 3 patients
• You can donate blood as often as every 8 weeks
• Actual blood donation takes only 5-7 minutes
• Only 5% of the eligible people come forward to donate their blood
• (If you are one of those other 95%, please save a life or two by donating your blood!)

Overall Process
When you arrive at your scheduled appointment, here's what you can expect:
• Registration/ medical history interview (5 to 10 minutes):
You will be asked to give your name, address, date of birth and phone number.
You will need to show a photo ID such as your driver's license or employee ID card.
Your temperature, blood pressure, and blood count are checked
• Blood Drawing (5 to 7 minutes):
A phlebotomist will collect about one pint of blood from your arm, which takes approximately five to seven minutes
• Rest and refreshments (10 to 15 minutes):
You will be asked to replenish your fluids by resting and enjoying complimentary juice and snacks

"Giving blood is something I can easily do. I don't need to be wealthy to give a priceless gift to the community"
